Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in Business Practice

Master’s thesis is concerned with maintenance management in manufacturing companies focusing on TPM. The first part of the thesis deals with the topic theoretically and proposes possible solution in company Siemens Electric Machines s.r.o. based on system analysis. The practical part then describes the current state of maintenance management and recommend various measures to improve autonomous, scheduled and reactive maintenance in this company.

This master thesis concerns modern method of TPM used in the production companies for maintenance of machinery. In the theoretical part, general maintenance is first described, as well as the TPM method. There is also described the technical diagnostics, which was emphasized in the practical part in terms of the use of vibrodiagnostics in predictive maintenance. In the practical part there is presented the proposal for introduction of the TPM method at the SMC Industrial Automation s.r.o. in Vyškov.

This work deals with the design of autonomous maintenance for a selected operating section - the press shop and its implementation in the company Dormer Pramet, s.r.o. in Šumperk. In the analytical part, the thesis focuses on the analysis of the current state of the press, describes the operation within the company, and especially focuses on the analysis of press failures. In the theoretical part there are methods and tools that serve as a basis for compiling proposals for the solution of the master‘s thesis. The practical part then contains the final proposal of a new procedure of autonomous maintenance based on the findings of the analytical and theoretical part.
